Photographing a wedding is one of the most amazing things to witness first hand; if you know me at all, you maybe know that I'm kind of an emotional sap when it comes to love...kind of..... And when I photograph a wedding, I am there basically from start to finish...I get the absolutely amazing opportunity to be there through every emotion: the nerves, the tears, the laughter, and of course the love. I get to witness the emotions of a groom seeing his bride for the first time, the father walking his bride down the aisle, and the excitement that fills the air as a new life begins together. (And don't forget the daddy-daughter dance.....that always gets me!) No matter what the weathers like, or what doesn't go as planned, weddings are an incredibly emotional, but mostly beautiful day.
Oh, and add in the fact of knowing the lovely bride and groom for quite some time... and that brings in a whole different whelm of emotions!! This wedding was something I had been looking forward to for, well, years really... Like I had said in Kirsten & Travis' engagement session, Kirsten and I have gotten the chance to get to know each other over the past few years...and after many visits to our favorite place, Panera Bread... we have had a chance to have a lot of chit chat...mostly about the fun things that girls like to talk about...you know boys, school, boys......you know ;) But as time went on, our conversations had a little change of pace...and before you know it... April 13, 2013 arrived.
It is my pleasure to introduce to you.......Mr & Mrs. Kooienga! :)
Congratulations you guys!
**PS-I could not shoot a weddings by myself, so a HUGE thanks goes out to Jessica Whitlatch (Jessica Kaye Photography) for being my "second shooter" at most my weddings! (2nd shooter really means nothing when it comes to Jess, because she puts in just as much effort as I do!) She has an amazing eye for photography and some of these photos were taken by her!**
